※ウェストランド、アグスタ両社の出資によってEHインダストリーズ（EH Industries、EHI。ユーロ・ヘリコプター・インダストリー Euro Helicopter Industriesとも）が設立。EH101（本機の旧名、EHI 01の誤表記がそのまま定着した）。2000年、ウェストランドとアグスタが合併してアグスタウェストランドとなる。2004年、EHインダストリーズがアグスタウェストランドに吸収合併された。2007年、EH101の名称はAW101と改められた
